What Does Melanoma Look Like

Being that Melanoma is a fast spreading very deadly form of skin cancer it’s important that you know what Melanoma looks like. Simply put, Melanoma looks a bit like a mole however there are some very key differences that you should be very familiar with.

Moles are typically oval or round where as melanomas are asymmetrical (meaning they look like an ink splatter…not oval or round at all)

Moles are typically one color where as melanomas are 2 or more colors (brown, black, green, purple, red etc.)

Moles usually stay the same shape for an adults entire life where as melanomas grow very quickly in the span of just a few weeks. Anything larger that .25 inches in diameter should be looked at by a dermatologist.
